To keep up with their growing company – and ensure they had the right technology to future-proof all of their business processes, the company decided to partner with a consulting company to replace their aging Warehouse Management System (WMS) with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016. To keep up with their growing company – and ensure they had the right technology to future-proof all of their business processes, the company decided to partner with a consulting company to replace their aging Warehouse Management System (WMS) with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016. This upgrade has many functional improvements including enhanced customer relationship management to mobile app usage and cloud-based services.
But the implementation and the consulting company simply missed the mark. Everything from reporting to P&L reports to dashboards – and even document management was simply not what the company expected. And statistically, about 60% of software/implementation projects go out of kilter.
“Our enterprise system was not tuned to what our company needed. We needed to achieve compliance and costing accuracy across our organization and deal with the challenges of cross-company and multi-country accounting.”
Our team’s job was to keep the implementation on track. Then, to re-instill confidence and trust, we devised a project scope that everyone agreed on. The team then performed a deep dive into the existing Dynamics NAV system to help diagnose and then resolve issues. The deep dive investigation enhanced system performance and processes, highlighting inventory costing difficulties, recommending security enhancements, and facilitating the usage of fixed assets.
Our motto was to fix everything that was developed incorrectly, including re-building the entire reporting system. With the project stabilized, our team began implementing Dynamics NAV 2016 for HOIS’s Canadian location, and manufacturing for the Chicago processing facility.
Dynamics NAV Manufacturing “role centers” provide quick access to data, reports and tasks to jobs such as Shop Supervisor and Machine Operator. It also allows the client to effectively manage production with quick access to production orders, bills of material, supply planning and capacity requirements planning.
We collected client users to compare Microsoft Dynamics Mobile to alternative mobile systems and add-ons available on the market. In the end, end users and IT personnel clearly favoured Captivix’s custom Dynamics Mobile solution.
Captivix met with HOS leaders to understand their business objectives and the status of their current ERP system. After diagnosing previous implementation issues by working closely with HOS staff members, the team was able to isolate issues that affected ERP system performance, inventory costing, security, fixed assets and reporting.
Because of their expertise with Microsoft Dynamics NAV systems, Captivix was able to identify system improvements, including which business processes were required to get HOS on the right track. HOS and Captivix built a trusted relationship that allowed them to work together to optimize the ERP system.
With a focus on manufacturing operations, the team was able to replace manual functions, improve reporting with role (department) specific reporting, and give the production staff what they needed to optimize production. With access to production orders, bill of materials, supply plans, and capacity requirement plans, the team was able to report out accurate inventory levels across all locations.
With the mobile app, sales teams could view accurate inventory levels while customer service could access customer histories and process orders
We are confident that you will share the same sentiment that our customers already shared…..
I would suggest that captivix’s is the same and we found this to be one of its biggest strengths. At no point during the process did we feel isolated. Our relationship has been and continues to be, one of collaborative effort.
Captivix worked on vital enterprise-wide web and IT Content management initiatives. Their openness to thinking outside the box I found refreshing when interacting with the business community within the corporate environment.
